Liz came to track cycling in her late 20’s when most elite athletes are calling it a career. A quick study, she rose through the ranks quickly before suffering what most would consider a career-ending crash. Determined to reach her potential, Liz returned to the sport in 2002 and made it onto the podium at the 2002 and 2003 Elite National Championships on her home track in Trexlertown, PA.

In 2004 she took a turn at Master’s racing, winning the 500m World Championship and 4th in the Match Sprint. Liz resolved to return to for both the Match Sprint and 500m titles and set her sights on an age-group world record in the 500m TT as well.

Liz added an Elite National title to her goals in 2006 and raced all over the US to prepare, qualifying for the USA Cycling Talent Pool in the process. She won the double at Master’s Worlds that year and earned her first Elite National title in the Team Sprint with partner Jennie Reed. Liz has since collected two individual Elite National titles in the 500m Time Trial and 4 Elite National titles in the Team Sprint, partnering with Boulder’s Cari Higgins for the final three.

Since 2007, Liz has been a member of three US National teams, competed in 6 UCI World Cups and was named to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Long team. A consistent performer, Liz brings a fast start, quick wit and years of international experience to the US Sprint Program as one of her strongest events, the Team Sprint, has been added to the Olympics and is one of the events being used to qualify sprint athletes for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Her website, My Life in Bikes, features stories of Liz’s lifelong love of cycling and sports.
