Ryan Sabga
A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Ryan started cycling in college in 1996. Within a few seasons he was racing in Europe and and earning starts for a couple of the most prestigious teams in cycling. In 2002, in a Commonwealth Games selection race, he suffered a crash that resulted in his pelvis splitting into several large pieces. After extensive surgery and a long rehabilitation, Ryan was able to win some races but retired in early 2003. He did not ride bikes again until 2008. In 2009, his first full season of competitive cycling, Ryan was a double silver medalist at the US National Track Championships and a representative at the UCI World Cups.
In 2010, Ryan earned four Elite Colorado State Championships, a silver medal at the US Elite National Track Championships, and the Elite National Road Race Championship for Trinidad & Tobago.
Fun Trivia: Ryan is the primary test pilot for the team’s bike sponsor Parlee Cycles. He has used his technological OCD (we politely call it passion) to assist them with product development since 2001.
